‘Learn my name’: Rep. McClain comments on Pelosi’s’ that woman ‘remark, Dems’ double standard on Maxine Waters

Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., Called Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday after the House Speaker referred to her as “the woman” and asked the GOP congressman to apologize for her remarks regarding Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif.

“Speaker Pelosi, you have to learn the name of this woman and that’s Lisa McClain,” the Michigan representative said during an appearance in “The Faulkner Focus.”

McClain claims Pelosi keeps her party at a ‘lower standard’ by defending Waters’ recent comments in Minneapolis, while Republicans such as Marjorie-Taylor Greene and former President Donald Trump have faced different consequences for their speech.

“The Democrats have set a standard and all I’m asking is Mrs Speaker, do not you think we should both play by the same rules?” Ask McClain.

GOP CONGRESS WOMAN BURNS BACK AFTER PELOSI CALLS HER ‘THE WOMAN’

McClain said that despite Pelosi’s comments, she would continue to fight to ‘expose’ the double standards that members of Congress are displaying.

The GOP congressman also directly criticized Waters, claiming she found it difficult to misinterpret the California representative’s remarks and urged protesters to become more ‘confrontational’.

“Words matter,” McClain said.

The tussle between Pelosi and McClain began after Waters visited an anti-police brutality rally in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota on Saturday night, saying protesters should “stay on the streets” and demand justice until a meaningful police reform is achieved. .

McClain apparently referred to Waters during a speech on Monday on the House floor.

“Once again this weekend we saw a member of the majority openly calling for more confrontation in a suburb of Minneapolis,” McClain said. “That night there was a shooting … where the police and the national guards were targeted.”

McClain added that if the roles were reversed and a Republican told protesters to “become more confrontational,” the majority of the House would “remove the representative from their committees and possibly expel Congress.”

“That woman on the floor must apologize for what she said,” Pelosi told The Hill on Monday.
