Nintendo Switch System Update 12.0.0 is now live

Nintendo Switch

Although there were reports last month of a minor system update on the way to the Switch, it appears that Nintendo has jumped straight to version 12.0.0 instead.

If you’ve been hoping for things like folders, themes, and various other exciting features, we’m sorry to say, but there’s none. Instead, this latest update fixes an issue related to the backup data storage feature.

Here is the complete overview of the official notes, courtesy of Nintendo’s website:

Far. 12.0.0 (Released April 5, 2021)

We have fixed the issue with the backup data storage feature, where the automatic backup of storage data is rarely interrupted if a communication error occurs during the completion of the backup data storage process.

You may find this information useful for steps to check if the error occurs or what to do if the error has already occurred.

As noted above, you can consult this page for more information if this error was a problem.

This update follows version 11.0.1, which was released in December last year, and a number of issues that occurred with version 11.0.0 have been fixed. Learn more about this in our previous post.
