Colombia has, for the first time in a legal manner, exported to the United States an extract containing high quality THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the most important cannabinoid piscoactive derivative of cannabis in a controlled substance in international treaties.

On March 30, the Colombian company NatuEra, a subsidiary of the Canadian company Cronos Group, sent an extract of THC to the state-owned company Biopharmaceutical Research Company, which is conducting a scientific research to analyze the composition and safety of cannabis in the form, the results of this study will serve to orient the public policy discussions that are taking place in this country regarding the legalization of cannabis at the federal level through a responsible regulatory market based on science.

It is hoped that the study will determine the consumption of this substance. Colombia, in view of the large number of countries involved in this process, believes that the country is involved with the necessary media in order to offer a product of good quality and control.

In a dialogue with Nicolas Nannetti, CEO of NatuEra, the director of Infobae’s account of the importance of this collaboration and why pharmaceuticals are looking to study the TCH of medicinal methods. In addition, we ensure that the products exported from the country are adequate in order for the academy to be able to use the medical method.

– “We believe that companies and research organizations need to have legal access to reliable cannabinoids and the highest quality for their research and development initiatives. This hit is very significant for Colombia at a time when the pharmaceutical industry, massive consumption and academia are advancing with the necessary research to orient the public policy discussions that are underway on cannabis legalization and regulation. federal ”, afirmó Nicolas Nannetti, CEO of NatuEra.

The amount of TCH exported from the 30 million-strong country, in three 10-mile ranges each, is one that is normally used for investigation and development purposes. In general, a very small amount is used to be able to provide the necessary analysis in this investigation.

“Scientists in the United States require legal access to superior quality cannabinoids in order to be able to study in mayor the safety and efficacy of cannabis in its distinctive forms. We work with NatuEra, with quintessential parties on regulatory compliance, science and progress, to facilitate access to cannabis in compliance with federal standards, ”added George Hodgin, CEO of BRC.

“It’s a very positive thing because we’re emphatic that companies are up to date at the time of the market. “I want to find that there are many demanders for their products and, if they are a result of debating the hope, they have become part of the international market route,” said Rodrigo Arcila, President of the Gremial Association.

Despite the good numbers, Colombian cannabis producers are insisting on the National Government in order to obtain permits to export flowers with medicinal fines.

‘La dry flower of cannabis, in addition to being a prime substance, also is a finished product. Hecho, is the most widely received and sold by mayors in the United States, Canada and Germany, representing more than 50% of dispensed patient sales”, Aseguró, in an interview with Portafolio, Camilo de Guzmán, Legal President of NatuEra.

Sondeverbod, the authorities have ten reservations in respect. “These mayors are responsible for the control and prevention of dementia outbreaks, as well as the revaluation of the permit in Colombia for the prescription of cannabis without transformation, even if the competent authorities did not accept him as a national investigator” , Reflection of the Minister of Justice, Wilson Ruiz.

Legalization in the United States

In the news, cannabis with medicinal fines has been legalized in 36 of the 50 states of the United States of America. Without embargo, psychoactive cannabis (that is, water with a superior content of 0.3% of THC) is considered to be a controlled substance in the United States under the most restrictive category of the Controlled Substances Act (Ley de Sustancias Controladas) from 1970, which is reserved for those drugs without the use of drugs that are accepted and that have a high potential for abuse.

In December 2020, the Commission on the Stupefaction of the United Nations, in a historic decision, accepted the recommendation of the World Health Organization -OMS- to remove the cannabis from the most restrictive list in the matter of import controls, reconciling importation for first and foremost medical and scientific fines.

In this context, in the United States there is advancing a national debate on how to legalize and regulate cannabis, and make the transition from an inconsistent regulatory market, led by states, to a federal regulatory market, oriented towards science, security of patients / users, and the application of consistent quality standards.
