Rumor Roundup: WrestleMania Universal Title Plans, Hall of Fame Changed

Speculation about the rumors surrounding pro-wrestling is a popular pastime for many fans, perhaps the second to watch the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being spread by the pro-wrestling backstory.

Rumors for the day:

  • Sunday’s pre-Fast track Dave Meltzer, edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, said he asked his WWE sources if they were planning an Edge vs. Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan. WrestleMania 37, and was said no. He did give the warning that plans could change, and based on last night’s PPV finish, it would appear they have.
  • Batista has been removed from WWE’s list for this year’s Hall of Fame. WWE did not officially comment, but a source told Wrestling Observer: “There were changes to this year’s Hall of Fame … Batista was one of them.” It is believed that Dave Bautista had a scheduling conflict.
  • WWE Network briefly referred to Daniel Bryan as a 2021 Hall of Fame Inductee on Saturday. Fightful Select reports that it was a mistake, but combined with its current television angle, it caused a lot of speculation.
  • WrestleMania 37 tickets were close to release within hours of being released Friday, according to the observer. Most of the remains are the most expensive on or near the floor.
  • The pitch to change RETRIBUSION comes at a ‘high level’, according to Fightful Select.
