CBS extends interruption of ‘The Talk’ amid Sharon Osbourne’s investigation

CBS has postponed the return of the series The Talk for a second time as they continue to investigate allegations against co-presenter Sharon Osbourne.

The program was initially put on hold shortly after controversy over Osbourne’s support for Piers Morgan, which led to several accusations from current and former hosts of racism.

The break was extended days later, and the show would return on March 22, but will be interrupted for at least another week.

“Everyone is in a limbo and wants it to be over,” a spokesman for the network said. “There is still no clear understanding of what the outcome will be. They need to research all of these things thoroughly. There is a lot of new leadership and they do not want to repeat the days of Les Moonves where things were often ignored and let go. They are investigating all the allegations. ”

The Briton denied allegations that she called former host Julie Chen ‘wonton’ and that she described Holly Robinson-Peete as ‘too ghetto’ for the show.

The 68-year-old also notified police and increased her safety on a large scale after receiving threats for herself, her family and even their pets.

However, she has apologize for her remarks about Morgan after his defense of Meghan Markle’s mental health, which sparked a heated discussion on the air between her and co-presenter Sheryl Underwood.

Osbourne was recently accused of spreading lies about her co-host, but found one supporter in singer Cyndi Lauper.

“I have known her for a long time and do not believe she is racist,” the singer “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” declared on social media on Thursday.

She added, along with a photo of herself and Osbourne, ‘I understand she spoke incorrectly, used the wrong words and acted in other ways. She may have even apologized. But I believe she is sincerely trying to put things right. ”
