Overall, this brings Utah to 381,254 total confirmed cases, 2,060 coronavirus-related deaths, and 1,137,076 vaccines administered since the pandemic began.
There are currently 160 Utahns in the hospital due to COVID-19, including 57 in intensive care, the Department of Health reported Saturday. The state currently utilizes approximately 75% of its ICU capacity.
Officials said the numbers performed another 14,990 tests on Saturday.
Over the past week, the state has averaged 469 new cases per day and a positive test over the test rate of 4.1%. A month ago, Utah averaged 779 cases per day.
The deaths reported Saturday were of two men between 65 and 84 who were admitted to hospital when they died. One was from Davis County and the other from Weber County, the health department said.
On Wednesday, March 24, Utah will open the vaccination schedule for every adult in Utah. The vaccine is currently only available to Utahs 50 years and older, and those with certain underlying health conditions.
The opening comes when the state expects the end of its mask mandate on April 10th. Many businesses and local governments still weigh their own ongoing mask requirements.
