Xbox game setup feature to provide better download speeds

A feature coming soon to the Xbox platform will allow users to suspend their games so they can download at higher speeds. Twitter. The feature is already available to users in the Xbox Insider application, who can find a ‘Suspend my game’ option on the ‘Manage Queue’ page if they are logged in to preview the dashboard changes in advance.

Xbox consoles will automatically lower the download speed when a game is open to enable uninterrupted online functions. Marie says that if this option is selected, players will suspend the game currently running to increase the download speed on the console. The best thing about it is that you will not lose your place – the game can still be resumed, or it can be resumed quickly on Xbox Series X and S.

The features of the Insider app are usually fully released a few weeks after testing, so it should not take too long before we see it roll out to all users. Another new feature that Insiders has available is a set of banners that appear on the Game Pass library page, pointing players in the direction of games that are leaving soon, or those that have been recently added. Useful if you feel overwhelmed to look at the growing library of games on Game Pass.

In other Xbox news, Microsoft told IGN that VR was not working ‘at the moment’, after IGN Italy saw a quick remark referring to a ‘VR headset’ during the Xbox Wireless test -headset. Here’s our review of the Xbox Wireless Headset, which we scored an 8, and pointed out that it delivers a ’rounded sound setup’ for consoles.
