Pokémon fans will often make surprising efforts to acquire shiny creatures, and this is certainly true for one Pokémon: Let’s Go player on Nintendo Switch. Reddit user GimmeDatGrimoire was able to get a Blink Magikarp in the game in an unusual way: from the Magikarp vendor in the Route 4 Pokémon Center. In the game, the slick salesman tries to snatch unsuspecting players by asking them for a cool 500 Pokémon Dollars for the incredible general creature. However, GimmeDatGrimoire was able to seduce the driller by trying over and over for three years until they finally got a Blink Magikarp!

The Magikarp seller was an important part of the franchise going back to the days of Pokémon Red and Green. The salesman appears in every game with the Kanto region. The character even makes an unforgettable appearance in the first season of the anime, where he successfully forces James to buy the Pokémon. For GimmeDatGrimoire, the achievement was meant to give the man a lesson!
While the dedication of the poster is impressive, it’s worth noting that this particular Blink is not worth putting the poster in it. Shiny Magikarp will evolve into an impressive red-colored Gyarados, but the Pokémon are pretty common as far as Shiny Pokemon are concerned. There have been several methods by which players have been able to get Shiny Magikarp and Shiny Gyarados over the years. Shiny Magikarp recently appeared at a Community Day event in Pokémon Go, and Pokémon obtained in the mobile game can be easily transferred to Pokémon: Let’s Go.
Of course to transfer a Blink Magikarp from Pokémon Go is not nearly as impressive as the dedication needed to accomplish a stunt like this, and GimmeDatGrimoire now has an impressive story with this new addition to their collection. When players buy Magikarp from the salesman, the game notices that the player has paid an outrageous price. It is fitting that GimmeDatGrimoire called their Magikarp ‘Outrage’. it will definitely make it hard to forget the hard work and effort involved in obtaining this Blink Pokémon!
