COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) – The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to an accident on Academy Blvd around 3:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

CSFD said when they were on the scene at Rebecca Lane and Academy Blvd. arriving, they found people trapped in the car.

Firefighters and rescue workers worked to pass those inside and the victims were transported to hospitals in the area to be treated for their injuries.

UPDATE (3/14/21 10:28 am) – Colorado Springs police said one of the people in the red Nissan was ejected during the crash. The driver and another occupant were trapped. All three were subsequently taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

The other vehicle involved was a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 18-year-old Jose M. Sanchez-Agundes, who was arrested for vehicle assault and DUI. The driver of the Nissan sustained serious bodily injuries.
