The George Floyd family, the African-American man killed by a police officer on May 25, has a civil agreement with the City of Minneapolis to receive a compensation of 27 million dollars, inform this este viernes the city and the representatives of the bankrupt.
“This is the mayor’s outright extrajudicial decision in a death case involving an African American man and sends a potent message that the blacks’ imports are imminent and that police brutality against people of color should end”, the family’s lawyers point out in a statement about the agreement, which does not finalize the criminal trial against agent Derek Chauvin and three other police officers over Floyd’s death.
Chauvin moves to Floyd, slamming his rod against his torso for a few minutes and suffocating him, a video incident that was committed in the United States and generated an oil protest against the racism and police brutality that plagued the country. The demonstrations, with the theme “Black Lives Matter” (The Black Imported Lives, in English), are also replicated in other places around the world.

“The death toll of George Floyd’s death from the death of tens of thousands of people all over the world, destroys a deep line of justice and change”, said Ben Crump, the chief lawyer of the Floyd family.
This agreement forms part of a civil lawsuit filed by the family in June 2020 against the city and the four agents involved.
In the criminal proceedings that commenced this week, Chauvin -which was expelled from the police- enfres tres cargos: assessed in third degree, assessed in second degree and an indictment for involuntary homicide.
