Firefighters responded Thursday night at Fremes, California, in Tesla, where smoke could be seen from an open roof on the north side of the plant.
Around 4:45 p.m., local authorities suspected the fire had burned itself out, but firefighters were at the scene and were monitoring the situation.
A spokesman for the Fremont Fire Department told Klanding subsidiary KTVU Fox 2 to Oakland Fox that the fire may have broken out in an area of the facility that is currently under construction.
