According to a spokesperson, CVS has added more than 100 more New Jersey locations where residents can sign up for a COVID vaccine appointment on Friday.
“Selected CVS pharmacy locations in the 17 countries in which CVS pharmacy is already administering vaccines as part of the Federal Pharmacy Program received the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine last week,” said Tara Burke, spokeswoman. “The schedule for the Janssen vaccine, which requires only one dose, started today on cvs.com and shots will be administered from tomorrow.”
She did not say how many Johnson & Johnson doses New Jersey received.
People who sign up will, according to availability, make an appointment for the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine, depending on availability. Each store has only one type of vaccine, she said.
To sign up for an appointment, you can go to cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine, or you can use the CVS Pharmacy app, the company said.
The company also has a customer service line at (800) 746-7287 for those without internet access.
No vaccinations will be provided.
If you go to the website, you will see a map highlighting the different states where vaccines are available. If you select New Jersey, you can see a complete list of locations in the pop-up window.
Clicking “Schedule Your Appointment Now” takes you to a waiting room that automatically refreshes. If it’s your turn, it will ask you to fill out a selection form. You must answer whether you have tested positive for COVID in the last 14 days, whether you have been close to anyone else who has tested positive and whether you have COVID symptoms.
If you answer ‘no’ to the three questions, the following screen will ask you to select your condition. You will then be directed to a checklist so that you can confirm that you are eligible. After submitting it, you will have the opportunity to enter your postcode and schedule your dose if appointments are available.
