India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) found that the man in the video is a gangster from UP named Naeem, who surrendered to Sambhal police in September last year for fear of a meeting. Although former BSP MP and wanted gangster Dhananjay Singh recently surrendered to him at a court in Prayagraj, the man in the video is no political culprit.

AFWA investigation
Using InVID and reverse image search, we found that the video and related images carried by various news sites in September last year.
As according to these reports, the man who fell at the feet of the policeman, was indeed a wanted gangster from UP named Naeem. A reward of Rs 15,000 has been announced in his name.
The man later handed himself over to the Nakasha police station in Sambhal because he was afraid he would be killed in a meeting. UP police have launched an operation against criminals, forcing many to surrender. Naeem was one of them.
The same video of Naeem’s surrender was also uploaded on 28 September 2020 through the YouTube channel of “Dainik Jagran”.
Recently, the former BSP-LP Dhananjay Singh before a special MP-MLA court in Prayagraj surrendered. He faced a surplus of Rs 25,000 in connection with the murder of a former block pramukh from Mau and the history page Ajit Singh. Dhananjay Singh surrendered a day after police declared the reward to him.
Therefore, it is confirmed that the man seen in the video who pleads his life at the feet of the UP police is not a former BSP MP, but a gangster named Naeem.
