Zack Snyder has revealed what DC fans can expect from Steppenwolf and Darkseid’s ‘very complicated’ relationship in his upcoming Justice League film.
Zack Snyder teased fans with a brief explanation as to why the dynamic between Darkseid and Steppenwolf is ‘very complicated’ in his upcoming Justice League movie.
“The dynamics between the two of them, some things have happened in the past,” Snyder told IGN Fan Fest. “There are a lot of issues between them … I think everything plays out.” Snyder added, “The answer is that there is a rather complicated relationship,” without further ado.
However, Snyder did share his directorial attack on Darkseid and admitted that he originally intended to set up the character to play a prominent role in a sequel. “He’s definitely the sequel bad guy, but he’s definitely fully operational [in Justice League]”he said.” He manages the program. He’s there. I do not want to spoil it again, but yes, he is definitely there. ‘

Snyder added that the version of Darkseid in his film has ‘a lot of human motivation’ and not just on a mission to conquer. “He’s working on another plane, but there’s definitely something happened to him in the past and he’s not happy about it, and it really hurt him,” Snyder continued. ‘It shaped him and he wants to fix it, so I think there’s a lot of nuances in him and Ray [Porter] do it well to vote him. ‘
Darkseid would originally play an important role in the play of Justice League but was largely cut from the film after Joss Whedon took over as director. Finally, Darkseid was only briefly mentioned by Steppenwolf. Snyder confirmed that Darkseid will play a larger role in his editing of the project, and will again be played by Ray Porter.
While Snyder said earlier that a Justice League the sequel probably would not happen, he recently said he would be open to discussions about it. “I think I would say, I would believe it if I saw it,” he said. “Happy to cross that bridge when I see it approaching.”
Zack Snyder’s Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
