One of Twitch’s co-founders joked lightly about Dr Disrespect’s ban in a recent stream, which further adds to the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the platform’s streamer.
After his infamous ban in the summer of 2020, fans around the world speculated why Dr Disrespect of Twitch was banned. Fast forward to 2021 and we are still not close to discovering the truth. Since its ban, there have been many rumors online, but there is little or no information from Twitch itself.
Outside of the general statement of the Twitch ban and recently Transparency Report Answer, the popular streaming platform and the two-time champion remained terribly quiet. Of course, different streamers did not stop to lighten the situation. However, it’s a little more surprising if one of Twitch’s co-founders also participates in the joke.
During a recent stream, Twitch and Justin.tv co-founder Justin Kan joined a panel of guests to discuss the ongoing violence against the AAPI community. Despite the heavy nature of the subject, Justin made a humorous remark about the ongoing drama surrounding the ban on Dr. Disrespect.
‘I’m one of the co – founders of Justin.tv and Twitch, and I’m also told to stop working at Twitch. So any opinions I have have nothing to do with Twitch. I was no longer part of Twitch for years, and I can not ban Dr Disrespect. ”
If even one of Twitch’s co-founders, Dr. Disrespect, can not unbank, it seems that the ever-popular streamer will have to stay on YouTube for the foreseeable future. Twitch earlier released a statement on the subject which reads:
‘As we do process, we take appropriate steps when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our community guidelines or terms of service. This applies to all streamers regardless of status or notoriety in the community. ”
Despite the ban, Dr Disrespect’s transition to YouTube seems to have gone fairly smoothly and he’s still one of the most popular streamers on the platform. Whether we will ever hear any information about his Twitch ban remains to be seen, but for now it seems like we should just keep waiting.
