Andrew Cuomo: Cuomo advisers have changed COVID-19 nursing homes: WSJ Cuomo accused Charlotte Bennett says governor has asked about previous sexual assault. Cuomo accuser says she thought he was proposing her MORE (D) of sexual harassment, says she felt Cuomo was proposing her for sex.
“I thought he was trying to sleep with me,” Bennett said in an exclusive interview with Norah O’Donnell on CBS Evening News.
Bennett, a former Cuomo assistant, said Cuomo asked her questions that made her feel ‘deeply uncomfortable’.
“The governor is trying to sleep with me,” she recalls. “And I feel deeply uncomfortable and I need to get out of this room as soon as possible.”
When asked what made Cuomo feel like having sex with her, Bennett replied: “Without saying so explicitly, he implied to me that I was old enough for him and that he was lonely.”
Bennett, 25, is one of three women accusing Cuomo of sexual harassment. She told The New York Times that Cuomo, 63, asked her several personal questions when they were alone, and suggested he start having relationships with women in their 20s.
Cuomo apologized on Wednesday to make people feel ‘uncomfortable’.
“I now understand that I acted in a way that made people feel uncomfortable. It was unintentional, and I really apologize for that,” Cuomo said.
New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) is investigating the allegations against Cuomo.
