Hudson-Odoi was replaced at the break on Sunday with Chelsea’s goalless draw against Manchester United and later appeared with a band on his leg.
But he will fight to start at Anfield in a match that could be at the heart of Chelsea’s top hopes.
Tuchel had hoped Thiago would also be involved in such an important match, but the club’s medical staff advised him to approach the Brazilian return cautiously.
Tuchel said: ‘Thiago did his first exercise with the team but did not complete the last exercise – not from any pain or anything, just knowing he was not taking a risk.
“I assume he is training today, but he is not at 100 percent, so he will not join the squad for Liverpool.”
Tammy Abraham is undoubtedly due to an ankle problem, but Chelsea have no other injuries.
