Hamilton was a huge success when it was switched from the stage to Disney Plus last year, the musical film is perhaps not the most impressive version of the hugely popular play. This award may rather go to Guitar_Knight14, a YouTuber who carefully recreated Hamilton’s first act in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The track, which was posted in December and catches fire this week, lasts more than 70 minutes. It features the music, characters and sets of Hamilton, dramatic camera footage and everything. Guitar_Knight14 is preparing Act 2, which can be seen early on if you subscribe to their Patreon.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, centered around the player transforming an arid island into a paradise, has a photo studio that encourages players to create elaborate sets and costumes. The developers of the game at Nintendo probably did not expect the life and times of one of the founding members of one of the United States to be created in that studio, but that creativity is the magic behind Animal Crossing. Since the game was released, players have recreated Pokémon, Pac-Man and more.
This is a beautiful clash of two of the 2020 pop culture hits. Hamilton, one of the biggest live hits yet, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which has become a surprise phenomenon when launched on Switch right, COVID-19 locked the world indoors.
With more than 30 million units sold, New Horizons is the second best-selling game on Switch. Nintendo continues to update the game regularly, allowing players to customize their characters with Super Mario items.
