President Joe Biden’s governing body announced Monday that it would allow separated migrant families on the front lines during the mandate of President Donald Trump to regroup and remain in state territory.
“We are reuniting with the families, they are here in their country of origin. We can give them the option”, said the Secretary of National Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, during a press conference at Casa Blanca.
“If, in effect, these bushes reappear here in the United States, we will explore legal alternatives for permanent residence in the United States,” said the secretary, who oversees the Department of Migration Controls.
Mayorkas indicates that it has sought the cooperation of the governors of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras and governmental organizations, and that contact with the private sector will be established soon.
Mayorkas indicates that around 105 families have regrouped during Biden’s governing body.
“The time will come to reach the deepest depth established by the prevailing government,” Mayorkas said. “Enterprise systems will not be reconstructed in a day or week”, added.
