Pep Guardiola acknowledged this Eric Garcia is on his way to Barcelona in the summer.
The youngster’s contract will expire and Barcelona they had made no secret of their desire to sign him for some time.
Guardiola revealed that he experienced some guilt because he could not play much in this campaign, after he shone Manchester City last season.
“Eric Garcia is like a boy. He was an old last season who was our best central defender after the closing. He never made a mistake and played in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.” Guardiola said at his press conference.
“He’s going to play in Barcelona and he’s not an average player. He’s a top player. He’s not been selected in the last two games and that broke my heart.
“That’s why it’s hard for all the drivers if you have a group. You can ‘t imagine what that means.”
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman asked the club to sign him in January, but his request was rejected due to the Catalans’ financial constraints.
