Analysts at Wedbush said today that supply chain research suggests that the next-generation iPhone series, popularly called iPhone 13, will have a 1TB storage option for the first time. The current iPhone 12 is maximum 512 GB.
Financial analysts remain optimistic that sales of Apple iPhone will remain strong during this year as part of the ‘reopening environment’ following the pandemic, as the rollout of COVID vaccine continues worldwide.
Front Page Tech previously reported that the next-generation iPhone 13 series will have a 1TB storage option in January.
As for iOS devices, Apple has currently offered only 1TB of storage on its high-quality iPad Pro tablets. In the context of the broader smartphone market, the iPhone has lagged behind a bit here. Smartphone competitor Samsung started offering 1 TB phones with the Galaxy S10 series almost two years ago.
The iPhone 13 series is expected to launch this fall, though we do not yet know much about the device’s specifications. There were persistent rumors about the return of Touch ID and 120Hz screens with a high refresh rate, but nothing specific.
Until the launch of the iPhone 13 this fall, Wedbush analysts remain optimistic about the iPhone 12 sales performance, following Apple’s $ 110 billion holiday quarter explosion. The company estimates about 62 million iPhone 11 units for the March quarter, and about 40 million for the June quarter. The analysts compare the success with the record cycle of the iPhone 6 in 2014.
