Comedian Jeff Ross spoke out in defense of Michael Che after the setback he received for a joke on “Saturday Night Live” that many critics called anti-Semitic.
“Uh, that was hilarious,” Ross recently told TMZ on camera as he walked through Los Angeles. ‘I wrote to him and told him. As his Jewish partner, I thought he was hilarious. People need to have a thick skin. It’s a difficult world out there. ‘
Ross, 55, said the episode says he does not feel the need to warn Che about his upcoming jokes for this weekend’s show, as there is no one funnier. He also discouraged the idea that Che (37) should be more careful in the future.
“He just needs to become a comedian. Listen, we’re been in the lock for a year now. Comedy is an essential issue at this point. If we don’t laugh or cry, everyone’s depressed now – suicide, divorce, that’s it. “Come on – comedy is medicine. You do not want your medicine to be watered down, do you? You want our medicine to be strong. Do you know what I’m saying?”

Michael Che got into trouble this week for making a joke about ‘SNL’ that critics called ‘anti-Semitic’.

In his remarks, Ross seems to be canceling the culture of, which has become a major topic in recent years, especially in the comedy industry, as several comedians have lost performances due to dug-up posts on social media and jokes from the past.
“Israel reports that they have vaccinated half of their population. I’m going to guess it’s the Jewish half,” Che said on the long-running NBC program.

The statement drew attention to social media causing a stir among viewers and prompted a petition from the American Jewish Committee (AJC) for NBC “to retract his outrageous allegation and apologize immediately.”

The organization calls the joke “categorically false” and a “dangerous, modern twist on a classic anti-Semitic herd that has inspired the mass murder of many Jews over the centuries.”

NBC told Fox News on Monday that they have no comment at this time. A Rep for Che did not return Fox News’ requests for comment.
Ross also touched on the viral news this week that Hasbro has decided to sue Mr. Potato Head toy line to be gender neutral.
“I think it’s great,” Ross weighed. “Why should it be a Mr. Potato Head or Mrs. Potato Head. It should just be Potato Head. It does not make it any different to me.”

The comedian clapped: “Yes, but this way every child can no matter what their gender of choice and says, ‘Hey, one day I may grow up and be a potato.’
He added that he thinks the sale “will be great because no one thinks of a potato head for long.”
