Nvidia supposedly launched a $ 329 graphics card today, the GeForce RTX 3060, but I haven’t seen much proof yet.
Orders started today at 09:00 PT / 12 ET for a card whose quoted prices range from $ 329.99 to $ 629.99, averaging $ 471. These are not cheaper prices. These are the retail prices set by Nvidia’s partners.
As far as I can tell, Newegg and EVGA’s own website were the only places that claimed to have a card for $ 329.99, and did not simply offer the card for sale: Newegg only increases the chances of buying the cards , and EVGA has a queue where you press an “notify” button. In either case, you can expect the company to email you with good news.

In my opinion, the raffle and rope are good things! That means you might have the chance to really get one. You have access to the Newegg Shuffle, which also contains a PS5 bundle, until 12:00 PM / 15:00 ET today, and you will know by 14:00 PT / 17:00 ET if you are lucky. But it also means we have little evidence that $ 329 is the real price of this GPU.
There is also the question of whether Nvidia initially managed to send many 3060s. Ropes and raffle aside, today it seems to be one of the rarest available GPUs, and some accuse Nvidia of a ‘paper launch’, like AMD’s RX 6800 series in November. PCGamer gave up the launch after an hour of failure on the right side of the blog. Best Buy barely had it. At some other dealers they never showed up. I have listed for some versions that appear directly on the internet. Micro Center only had them in the store.
One highlight (at least for US players): Best Buy listed a variety other Nvidia GPUs today, with the 3060 Ti, 3070, and even the toughest 3080 popping up from time to time.
In fact, it might have shown how rude the RTX 3060 launch is: I put Falcodrin’s Twitch channel, a popular hangout where people try to track the maps and share their success, and Falcodrin held a poll where just two people admits he did not have a 3060 at all:

It is also noteworthy that at least two of the so-called $ 329.99 graphics cards look suspiciously like drawing offers to meet the price. EVGA has a second almost identical version of the 3060 with a slightly higher boost clock that sells for $ 390.

And while Newegg might list Zotac’s 3060 Twin Edge for $ 329.99, Zotac calls it himself and sells the exact same card this morning for $ 479.99. (I saw the add-on-basket button on one refresh, but the Zotac website crashed and it was no longer in stock as soon as I got back.)
The RTX 3060 is a good card, but even at $ 330 I think you can wait to see what’s next, since the 3060 Ti is so much better. At $ 400 and up, it doubles. But maybe you did not have the choice to start with. We ask Nvidia if there are any more thoughts, and we will let you know what we hear. EVGA would just confirm that it’s sending a $ 329.99 GPU, and that ‘we have more stock on the way.’
