EAST LANSING, Mich. Official Angie Enlund was injured Wednesday at the end of the Rutgers-Michigan State women’s basketball game and taken to a hospital.
After the last buzz, Rutgers player Tekia Mack was on her way back to the Scarlet Knights bench when she accidentally hit Enlund in midfield and hit her hard.
Enlund was on the ground for a few minutes and took off with a stretcher. She did move and move some of her limbs and was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
A Michigan state spokeswoman said Enlund would be kept in the hospital overnight with a concussion, but that she had no fractures.
“I know she was unconscious for a while,” Michigan coach Suzy Merchant said. “They took her in an ambulance, but it’s very scary and serious. She hit very, very hard. She hit her head very hard, so I will just pray for her and her family and hope she is doing well. ‘
Rutgers players crowded in front of their bench in a circle to pray for Enlund.
