T-Mobile is adding a new plan to its range, this time designed for its most demanding data users. The new plan, called Magenta Max, will replace the existing Magenta Plus offering and be available from February 24th. In particular, the new Max offering does not contain any smartphone data, no matter how much 4G or 5G data you use per month.

However, mobile hotspot data will slow down to ‘3G speeds’ if you exceed 40 GB within a month. The Magenta Plus plan previously limited high-speed mobile hotspot data to 20GB within a month.

T-Mobile says the new plan will launch at a ‘limited time’ price of $ 47 per line per month for three lines with automatic payments, a $ 10 discount from the normal rate of $ 57 per line per month. month. A single rule is $ 85 per month with auto payment, with all plans including taxes and fees included in the price.

Other features for Max include a subscription to Netflix’s standard plan (usually $ 14 per month), which enables HD streaming if you have two or more lines, while a subscription to Netflix’s non-HD Basic plan ($ 9 per month) will be included for single maximum lines. Those with the new plan have access to unlimited Wi-Fi and text messaging during GoGo and can take advantage of the same faster international data speeds that Magenta Plus offered when traveling abroad (although speeds are still 256 kbps).

You will also be able to stream in 4K UHD on your phone (as opposed to HD), as long as you have the right content and a phone with a high-resolution screen.

While replacing the Magenta Plus option, Matt Staneff, chief marketing officer of T-Mobile, told CNET that the company will not automatically switch those with Plus to the new Max plan. ‘They will have to choose to get it,’ he says, ‘and it has been a policy of ours for years. […] we do not change your plan, only you can change your plan. ‘

To attract Verizon and AT&T customers, the carrier is offering a “zero cost to switch” promotion that allows those who finance a phone to switch to T-Mobile and cover up to $ 650 per line of remaining coverage . installment plan while you can keep the phone. Like the discount rate, the switcher is a “limited time” agreement, but Staneff will not disclose how long the period will last, only saying that it will be until we change it forward.

In addition to the maximum change, those with T-Mobile’s top Magenta plan will also see improvements without adjusting their plan, including up to 100 GB of monthly speed data on their phone and 5 GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data per month. .
