Winter Storm in Texas: Here You Can Get Free Food and Water in Houston Area on Sunday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – As the Houston area continues to handle the recovery from the winter storm, several groups have arranged free water or food distribution events in the city.

The list below will be updated with new information as we get it.

Sunday 21 February

Houston

HISD / Houston Food Bank food – 09:00 to 13:00 – NRG Stadium
The Montrose Center – water and non-perishable products – 1pm to 3pm – 401 Branard St.
Butler Stadium – water – 14:00 13755 S. Main St.
Molina Healthcare of Texas / Viet Alley Restaurant – food – 4pm to 6pm – 11210 Bellaire Blvd # 133.
Burns BBQ – kos – De Prieststraat 8307.
Alief Crump Stadium – food – 14:00 to 16:00 – 12321 High Star Dr.

The Houston Food Bank offers home delivery to the most vulnerable who need immediate help. Households will deliver a disaster box and water at home if they:

  • People with disabilities

Their call center is taking bookings until Monday, February 22 at 832-369-9390.

If you are unfit or do not have reliable transportation to get to the water points, you can register to have it delivered via CrowdSource Rescue.

Monday 22 February

Houston

  • HISD / Houston Food Bank Food Distribution – 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Hattie Mae White Education Support Center – 4400 W. 18th St.

Due to the water problems, Houston is expected to remain under a notice on boiling water until Monday, February 22nd. But residents of many other cities suffer, and they do not even have water to boil.
