You crazy, bro ?: Steelers fans shout about retiring Maurkice Pouncey and all the JJ Watt talk

This week’s “You crazy, bro?” knocked out Steelers fans over JJ Watt and Maurkice Pouncey. Penguins fans talk about Jim Rutherford. And cancel culture wants a piece of William Shakespeare.

Lord, what fools are these mortals?

We start with Tony. He hated last week ‘You crazy, bro?’

All I will say for all your advanced criticism is how are you waiting for a sub-500 season? Or a win in Cleveland or Cincy SB? Or the Ravens, for whom I take it, are much better?

Yet everyone has had a lot of top-10 concepts over the last 15 years compared to us, what, one or two?

We always believe cuz year in and year out WE ALWAYS COME WITH! And only one other team can say that they did better. But it’s been two decades. Not five, like us. So we hate if you will. But look at the statistics idiot! Nobody has been better since 1972 !!

So, Tony, let me see if I understand your point. Should the Steelers actually end up below .500 before I can say that this is going to happen?

If you feel better now by comparing the Steelers to the Bengals and Browns, move on. But I thought ‘the standard’ is a little higher than here.

As for the Ravens’ ‘superior’ and waiting for them to win a Super Bowl, they recently won one (2012) as the Steelers (2008).

As for your point about top 10 picks, yes. The Steelers have only had one, Devin Bush (2019), since the draft in 2004. However, the Ravens also had only one – Ronnie Stanley in 2016.

I also want to warn you against bragging so much about Steelers’ ‘five successes’. Maybe you’re too young to remember the 1980s? Unfortunately I am not. And with only three wins in the playoffs in the last decade – and the playoffs missed four times – I would also not say exactly that the past ten years have qualified as excellence.

But hey, what do I know? I’m just an idiot checking the stats.

The “Local Hero” on Twitter has some thoughts on recently retired Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and whether he should be in the Hall of Fame.

So I guess we should pull Dermontti Dawson out of the Hall of Fame too, right? And like Anthony Munoz. And John Hannah. And Dan Marino. Barry Sanders. Jim Kelly …

Look, I understand that. As I wrote this week, a Hall of Fame candidate fails to win a Super Bowl (or even play in one). For sure. Especially in a market like Pittsburgh where everyone is judged by Super Bowl wins.

But winning a ring may not be a universal qualification for induction. Especially in the middle position. It seems silly to me.

Larry sends a little anxiety over all the rumors about the Steelers and JJ Watt.

The Steelers have already dud $ 5 million with the van of Watt. A lead is on the list of Steelers priorities. Releasing Ben is like a kick in the teeth, but what’s best for the Steelers’ long-term success? It will surprise me if they are better than 8-8 next year. There are going to be some lean years before the next Lombardi trophy. Mason Rudolph can be successful with a running game.

First of all, it’s clear to me, based on his recent Instagram post, that Mason Rudolph’s life is already ‘successful’.

Well played, Mason.

Secondly, I assume you mean Derek and not TJ Watt, right? It’s a little hard. Not the “dud” part. The $ 5 million. It’s more than $ 3.8 million, but I understand.

What all the other things you wrote, yes, I’m with you. Sing it! If Roethlisberger were to play a position other than quarterback, he would be released. And at the start of the season, I wonder if we will consider 8-8 as an optimistic coconut.

Russ is also thinking about the possible signing of Watt from Steelers.

Agree on many points here, Russ. That said, I’m looking forward to your ‘You crazy, bro?’ sends an email about how the Steelers had to sign Watt if he inevitably has two pockets and a forced foul against Roethlisberger when the teams play for the first time during the 2021 season.

Do not worry. I can assure you that I will send out similar tweets.

Let’s push Bryan in on Jim Rutherford’s decision to jump on the Penguins.

I suspect he knows the team’s trajectory is down. The pins will be at best average until a complete rebuild is undertaken. With an empty closet in his underage age, aging superstars in the big club and a potentially dark play-out future, I can not blame him for coming out while the memories of his two Stanley Cups are still fresh in the memory of Pittsburgh fans. I remember how quickly they turned on Craig Patrick and Ray Shero.

Penguins fans celebrating someone after achieving Stanley Cup success, only to turn them on when times are tough, and appreciate them more when they’re gone? No! That would never happen.

What is it? O. A hand is raised behind. Yes, Mr Fleury, would you like to add something to the conversation?

Finally here’s one that made me angry. Apparently, 400 years after his death, we have now established that William Shakespeare is not culturally progressive enough. So some educators take it upon themselves to “cancel” him.

Fear not, Bill. “The fool thinks he is wise.” All I have to say to them is that they ‘speak infinitely nothing’.
