The Oregon Health Authority on Tuesday announced 411 new cases of COVID-19, along with one new death, which increased the death toll from the coronavirus in the state to 2,138.
The new numbers come as the icy conditions of the weekend are still being tested and vaccinated by the icy conditions, as less than 7,600 vaccinations have been given in recent days – about half the usual amount – and there are a little over 8,000 COVID test results reported.
Mass vaccination sites at the Oregon Convention Center and Portland International Airport closed over the weekend due to the weather and thousands of appointments have been rescheduled, but have since reopened. Oregonians 75 and older were eligible to sign up online Monday morning.

Who died: The 2,138th death is an 85-year-old man in Marion County who tested positive on Feb. 7 and died Feb. 14 at Salem Hospital. He had underlying conditions.
The incidence of infections: On Tuesday, the state reported 348 new positive tests out of 8125 tests performed, which equates to a 4.3% positivity rate.
Who became infected: Civil servants have not released more detailed information since Friday. Since then, new confirmed or suspected infections have grown among the following age groups: 0-9 (63); 10-19 (187); 20-29 (260); 30-39 (233); 40-49 (170); 50-59 (161); 60-69 (101); 70-79 (76); 80 and older (44).
Who is in the hospital: According to the state, 195 Oregonians with confirmed coronavirus infections were hospitalized Tuesday, 15 fewer than Monday. Of these, 51 coronavirus patients were in intensive care units, two less than on Monday.
Vaccines administered: Oregon administered 691,455 first and second doses out of 905,725 receipts, which is approximately 76.3% of its supply. Oregon reported 7,568 newly administered doses, including 5,282 on Monday and the remainder of previous days.
Since it started: Oregon reported 150,875 confirmed or suspected infections and 2,138 deaths, one of the lowest per capita numbers in the country. To date, the state has reported more than 3,419,985 laboratory reports of tests.
