Tweets by Republican lawmakers from Texas mocking power outages in California are being criticized this week for the Lone Star State struggling with winter storms that caused many people to lose power in their homes.
GOP lawmakers hampered Democrats when massive heat waves in California in 2019 caused widespread power outages that affected 30 of the state’s 58 counties.
Over the weekend, an unusual winter storm left millions without power in Texas, prompting the state’s power network operator to declare its highest state of emergency and exposing Republican lawmakers’ old tweets.

My parents were in Houston for almost 24 hours without electricity. They don’t even turn on power outages in Houston anymore. It seems like Republicans like you took energy for granted and did not invest enough in the Texas power grid.
