Devin White: It was the Chiefs’ own fault for not helping their tackles

The Super Bowl is still creating a stream of commentary and analysis, most of which comes from the case.

Buccaneers’ linebacker Devin White, the player I would vote for MVP, appears on FS1s Undisputed to discuss the game. Shannon Sharpe asked White if he was surprised by the Chiefs’ failure to provide extra assistance to their offensive line.

“We knew they were going to be a tough team, which they have every right to be,” White said. ‘They were the number 1 offense in the entire National Football League. But the thing is, we knew they could not stop us. We knew our top four would dominate them. So they did us a favor. They played right into our hands.

“We would not be that tough team like, ‘Hey, we’re playing them in Cover One, we’ll shut them down. “Our best guys matched their best guys. We’re going to make it a team, a joint victory on defense, and that’s what we did, man. At the end of the day, they shouldn’t even talk about not having their offensive attacks if they hadn’t even helped them. They put them alone on islands with the best pass-rushers in the game. It is therefore to their own fault. ”

It was indeed. The Chiefs used only five blockers 92 percent of the time. The Chiefs rely on the ability of Patrick Mahomes (quarterback) to run away from the pressure – and he eventually runs 497 yards before throwing or hitting the ball.

Although Mahomes will always make the Chiefs relevant, they need to do a bit of work to put forward the defense that is figuring out how to defend the best offense in the game.
