Larry King’s widow Shawn King plans to challenge the star’s will in court

Larry King’s widow, Shawn King, plans to go to court.

Last week, the handwritten will of the broadcasting legend was revealed, who reportedly said that his $ 2 million estate would be divided among his five children.

The document, which was allegedly compiled on October 17, 2019, two months after King filed for divorce from Shawn, does not mention her at all and also mentions her now deceased children Chaia and Andy as beneficiaries. His will was written a few months before the loss of Andy (65) and Chaia (51). The two died within a few weeks of each other.

His three remaining children – Larry King, Jr. (59), Cannon (20) and Chance (21) – were also mentioned. King shared Cannon and Chance with Shawn.

However, Shawn said there is already a plan between her and King that is not reflected in the alleged document.

“We had a very watertight family estate plan,” she told Page Six of a plan she and her husband drew up in 2015 ‘as a couple’.

“It still exists, and it’s the legal will. Period,” she said. “And I totally believe it will hold, and my lawyers will probably submit an answer by the end of the day.”

Not only was the document complicated by the deaths of his children in 2020, but King also told Page Six before he left that he and Shawn had become close again, although it was unclear whether divorce had been removed from the table.

LARRY KING’s WIFE SHAWN KING REVEALS HIS CAUSE OF DEATH, FINAL MOMENTS

Shawn confirms the statement and says she and her husband speak daily, claiming she was never made aware of an amendment to his will.

“It beats me!” she said when asked why she believes King made the new document.

Their shared sons were also ‘shocked’ to learn of the change, she said, claiming they were ‘not happy about it’.

In addition, Shawn conceded to the premise that she believes that someone influenced the broadcast legend to compile the new will, but offered no further details.

Larry King's handwritten will was recently obtained by sellers. She reportedly left his estranged wife behind.

“Based on the timeline, it just does not make sense,” she said, noting that she did not believe he would have cut her out due to the filing of divorce documents.

According to People magazine, King apparently wrote in the document: “This is my last will and testament. It should replace all previous writings. In case of my death, I want to have 100% of my funds divided equally every day after the date above. among my children Andy, Chaia, Larry Jr., Chance & Cannon. ‘

Page Six reports that Shawn is likely to walk away with about $ 300,000 under the current will only after the $ 2 million estate was divided among King’s sons and presumably the survivors of his deceased children.

“That’s the principle,” she said.
