Celebrity greeting to Andrew Cuomo during Emmy ceremony attracts mockery: ‘How embarrassing’

The mounting of celebrities streaming across the New York government, Andrew Cuomo, D., when he received an Emmy Award in November, sparked a new wave of conservative mockery on Monday.

Cuomo pleaded guilty in 2020 to his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, despite the fact that his state has led the country into deaths, but he is now under fire from both parties due to the alleged cover-up of the administration of deaths to the nursing home the virus.

Cuomo received the Founders Award “in recognition of his leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and his masterful use of television to inform and calm people around the world” at the International Emmy Awards on November 23, and liberal celebrities like Ben Stiller, Spike Lee and Robert de Niro praised him in a pre-recorded video.

The comedian “gave us hope, gave us clarity, gave us the truth, and gave us something we did not get from Washington: leadership,” comedian Billy Crystal said. “You’re the epitome of New York tough.”

Stiller said, “I’m looking up to you” and mentioned that he reached out to Cuomo’s younger brother, CNN host Chris Cuomo, for advice on the willful jokes to make about him.

“You’re the man,” actress Rosie Perez said. “We were all in a crisis, in a panic, and every day you came up in the air, and you offered your strength, your leadership, your guidance and your caring and your heart.”

“Thank you for your leadership during these difficult times,” de Niro said.

But with Cuomo’s handling of the state’s pandemic under a new light, with reports of what some Republicans call obstruction of justice, conservatives have scolded Cuomo and his Hollywood supporters.
