Several hospitals in Alabama are closing their vaccination clinics on Monday due to the winter storm threat, but the appointments will be rescheduled.
Twenty-nine provincial health departments were also closed Monday, and their vaccination clinics are also being rescheduled.

DCH Health Systems the remote vaccination site in Tuscaloosa will be closed on Monday. Anyone who has an appointment will be automatically rescheduled for the same time on Saturday, February 20th. DCH says its vaccination team will try to email patients with appointments, but because it’s a manual process, they may not reach everyone on time.
From now on, DCH will not change the appointments on Tuesday for vaccination.
“We will evaluate the weather tomorrow and determine if any changes need to be made to Tuesday,” the DCH said in a Facebook post and email. “An announcement will be made tomorrow on Tuesday.”
The Athens Limestone Hospital COVID vaccine clinic closed Monday and Tuesday.
The hospital’s press release states that everyone with an appointment will be called and rescheduled as soon as possible.
“We urge you not to call the hospital so that our schedule team can devote their time to rescheduling all appointments,” the statement read. “People who are scheduled to receive 2nd doses will receive priority planning to ensure they are within their vaccination window.”
Huntsville Hospital Community Vaccination Clinic at John Hunt Park will be closed Monday. All appointments scheduled for Monday are scheduled for Wednesday, February 17th. “It is not necessary to call the hospital to reschedule,” the website reads.
Other closures include the breast center, heart repair, heart failure clinic, heart center, imaging service, centers for laboratory patients and pediatric therapy. Check out the website for more information.
Cullman Regional Medical Center: ‘Due to the threat of bad weather, the COVID-19 vaccine clinic scheduled for Monday 15 February has been canceled. Everyone who should receive their first dose of the vaccine is scheduled for Friday, February 19, at the same time as originally scheduled. Anyone planning for their second dose of vaccine can come on Wednesday or Friday from 08:00 to 14:00. Our staff calls all patients with appointments to confirm this schedule. UAB PR issued this statement on Sunday: “UAB continues to monitor weather forecasts and does not expect universities or clinical closures to be on Monday. However, due to weather conditions, out-of-town vaccination centers at Parker High School and the Hoover Met will be closed Monday (appointments are scheduled for later in the week). ”
Provincial departments of health also includes the Northern, Western Center and part of the Southwestern public health districts.
The list contains the following provinces:
Northern District: Cullman, Colbert, Franklin, Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, Lauderdale, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Morgan and Winston
West Central District: Bibb, Chilton, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa and Walker
Southwestern District: Choctaw, Clarke, Dallas, Marengo, Washington and Wilcox
All COVID-19 vaccination clinics scheduled for Monday in provinces in the West Central District will be moved to Saturday. Appointment times will remain the same on the new date. People planned in the Northern District provinces for increased doses will be employed over the next two weeks.
A drive-in vaccination clinic at the Choctaw County Department of Health and a vaccination clinic at the Marengo Province Department of Health, both of which are planned, have both been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that if the normal schedule for receiving a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine is delayed, those of Pfizer-BioNTech and Modern COVID-19 vaccines could be administered for up to six weeks. – – or 42 days – after the first dose.
The Alabama Department of Public Health ensures the opportunity for people to receive their next dose over the next two weeks, including the provision of extended clinics if the availability of staff becomes available.
