Video captures a Texas mother tackling a man accused of peeking into her daughter’s window

In a dramatic video, a Texas woman is captured tackling a man accused of peeking into her teenage daughter’s bedroom window. CBS DFW reports that a police camera was captured at the time when mother Phyllis Pena tackled the man who was allegedly outside her home and was looking at her 15-year-old daughter.

“I at least thought I could do it, if I intercepted him, ate him, whatever, then they would get the chance to get caught,” Pena said. “The first instinct was to just make sure he didn’t go any further.”

Lake Jackson Police Department

Lake Jackson police said officers were called to the home on the morning of Jan. 31 after receiving a report of “a suspicious man in the area looking inside a window of a home.”

Officers said a man who matched the description tried to run away when he saw them. The suspect, who was later identified as 19-year-old Zane Hawkins, was tackled by Pena. Her daughter then ran and helped hold the suspect until officers caught up.

After the suspect was arrested, officers told the mother she had made a ‘pretty good suit’.

“The policeman punched me and he was like, ‘Hey, I heard that. the texans is looking for a new linebacker, ” Pena said.

Hawkins has been jailed and is facing charges, including possession of a controlled substance, evasion of arrest and resisting arrest.
