The goal is to free workers to get Covid-19 vaccines

The chain said on Wednesday that it would pay more than 350,000 employees an hour to four hours – two hours for each dose they receive – and free Lyft rides of up to $ 15 per direction to get to and from their vaccination appointments.

The news comes as companies of Kroger (KR) on Starbucks (SBUX) announce similar plans to pay their workers to be vaccinated.
Kroger gives employees a one-time payment of $ 100 if they provide proof that they have been recommended the full doses of a Covid-19 vaccine by the manufacturer.
Aldi, Trader Joe’s and Instacart have also announced that they will pay workers to encourage them to be vaccinated. Starbucks said earlier this week that it was giving up to two hours of paid time per dose to its employees.
The companies’ policies come amid a slow start to the introduction of vaccines in the United States. According to the latest CDC data, more than 42 million doses of vaccine have been distributed so far, and about 10% of the US population has receive at least one dose of vaccine. Federal officials said 20 million people would receive first doses by the end of 2020.
Target also said this is a partnership with CVS (CVS), which has 1,700 establishments in Target stores nationwide, to offer vaccinations to its workers in its stores and distribution centers in the future.
