“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” Lucasfilm said in a statement.

Gina Carano will not return The Mandalorian, after sharing a message on social media and concluding that it is a Republican today, like being Jewish during the Holocaust.

“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokeswoman said in a statement. “Nevertheless, her social media messages that demean people on the basis of their cultural and religious identity are abominable and unacceptable.”

On Wednesday, the hashtag #FireGinaCarano tended to follow an Instagram message from the outspoken conservative actor and the former mixed martial artist suffered a serious setback. The post has since been removed, but screenshots were widely shared by users on social media who asked her to shoot from the hit Disney +. Star Wars Show.

This is not the first time Carano, who plays former Rebel Alliance soldier Cara Dune The Mandalorian, was the focus of social media for her political comments. Last November, she issued controversial tweets, one in which she mock mask-wear amid the new coronavirus pandemic and another in which she falsely proposed voter fraud took place during the 2020 presidential election.

“They’ve been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and that was the last straw today,” said a source familiar with Lucasfilm’s thinking. THR.

The Mandalorian which debuted at Disney + in November 2019, helped boost the streaming service to impressive subscriber numbers. Various Mandalorian spin-offs are in the works of executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, including Rangers of the New Republic, which Carano could possibly have starred in, although this was never officially confirmed.

But according to sources, Lucasfilm planned to launch Carano as the star of her own screening during an investor day in December, but scrapped the plans following her tweets in November.
