BioWare gave us our first true look at Mass Effect Legendary Edition last week. The remastered package contains all three titles from the original trilogy, touched on with improved character models, assets, textures and lighting. It is also set at 60 frames per second on PS5 and PS4 Pro, with support for 4K resolution.
We’ve already seen how Commander Shepard’s cup was refurbished in the first game, but what about everything? Well, GameSpot has put together an excellent nine-minute video that combines shots from the original games (on a computer) with shots from the revealing trailer, which we embedded above. It does not take long to realize that the Legendary Edition is an expected leap in the right direction. Everything has an extra level of detail, and the lighting is much more effective. The difference is not quite as noticeable in Mass Effect 3 (but expected again), but overall Legendary Edition looks good.
