Here are the coronavirus vaccines available this week in Louisiana Coronavirus

Doses of the coronavirus vaccine will be available this week to individuals in every Louisiana community.

The vaccine will be delivered to 378 providers in all 64 congregations, including pharmacies and hospitals, the Louisiana Department of Health announced Monday morning.

The doses are only available to persons eligible under the Phase 1B, Tier 1 guidelines. These include:

  • Persons 65 and older
  • Dialysis providers and patients
  • Outpatient and outpatient providers and staff
    • Behavior providers and staff
    • Providers and staff for urgent care clinics

    • Community care providers and staff

    • Dental providers and staff

  • Professional home care providers (including hospital workers) and home care recipients (including elderly and young people with disabilities over 16 who receive community or home care, as well as clients of home health care institutions)
  • Interpreters and support service providers (SSPs) working in community and clinic-based institutions, and clients who are both deaf and blind
  • Health-related support staff (laboratory staff, mortuary staff in contact with corpses, pharmacy staff)
  • Schools of related health students, residents and staff
  • List provided by Louisiana Department of Health.

To receive the vaccine, a person must make an appointment with the provider. A person who arrives at a place without an appointment does not receive any vaccine.

Louisiana on Thursday extended its admission to the coronavirus vaccine so people 65 and older can get the vaccine.
