The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists has passed a resolution banning former President Donald Trump from ever applying for admission again.
Last week, Trump issued a statement announcing his resignation from the organization after the SAG-AFTRA council overwhelmingly voted to take action against the former president for violating the union’s membership guidelines in the wake of the riot. January 6 at the American Capitol Building.
The board met via Zoom video conference on Saturday and adopted the resolution that effectively barred Trump from all possible readmission to SAG-AFTRA. The group cites Trump’s “antagonism of the union’s journalists and disregard for the values and integrity of the union” as the reason for the resolution.

“Preventing Donald Trump from ever rejoining SAG-AFTRA is more than a symbolic step,” said Gabrielle Carteris, president of SAG-AFTRA. “It is a resounding statement that fellow members cannot threaten or harm. An attack on one is an attack on everyone.”

Fox News exclusively obtained the letter sent to Carteris and insulted the union, the media and news organizations before he could vote to oust Trump.
“I am writing to you today about the so-called disciplinary committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares!” Trump wrote.
He added: “Although I’m not familiar with your work, I’m very proud of my work on films such as Home Alone 2, Zoolander and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. , Saturday Night Live, and of course one of the most successful programs in television history, The Apprentice – just to name a few! “

Trump also attributed himself to the fact that he revived the cable news industry, thanks to his political invasion.
“This brings me to your blatant attempt at free media attention to distract from your gloomy record as a union,” Trump wrote. ‘Your organization has done little for its members, and nothing for me – except to raise funds and promote dangerous non-US policies and ideas, as evidenced by your massive unemployment rate and lawsuits of celebrated actors, which even a video took up with the question: does the union not fight for me? ”

The former president also mocked the group’s policies before finally resigning.
“I no longer want to be associated with your union,” Trump wrote. “As such, this letter should inform you of my immediate exit from SAG-AFTRA.”

Carteris and National Executive Director David Whit issued a statement shortly after Trump resigned from the union.
“Thank you,” they wrote.
