Amy Schumer interprets as a winged ‘Fairy Godmayo’ in Hellmann’s Super Bowl ad fighting food waste

She stars in the cooking series Amy Schumer Learns To Cook with her chef husband Chris Fischer.

And Amy Schumer showcased her newfound culinary passion on Sunday in a Super Bowl ad for Hellmann’s mayonnaise.

The 39-year-old stand-up comedian plugged in the iconic spice while suggesting ideas to spice up excess with it.

Amy actually did double duty as two different versions of the ad aired: one east of the Rocky Mountains for Hellmann’s mayo and one West of the Rockies for Best Foods mayo.

The two brands are identical but have different names in different regions, so the Trainwreck star had to shoot twice from the ad to name the different names and exchange her dark blue jacket, which showed the mayonnaise names across her chest .

She combined the blue suit with a yellow satin blouse and added some gold CGI wings for extra sparkle.

The video was opened with a man rummaging through his fridge and finding a variety of illegal remains.

‘Heart broken. It’s sad, ‘says Amy as she magically appears in a shower of golden sparks on the edge of the kitchen island.

“I’m your Fairy Godmayo,” she explained to the shocked man. “And it’s a hot mess!”

He still has meat garnish left over, plus half an onion and an artichoke.

“What’s even an artichoke?” he asks.

“No one knows,” she said contemptuously as she pushed him aside to take a pot of Hellmann / Best Foods mayonnaise from the fridge door.

With a twist of her butter knife, the island is covered with an enviable smear, including chocolate cake, a spinach artichoke dip, nachos, devil’s eggs and sandwich packets, which probably represent things that can be made with mayo.

“Oh yes, that’s normal,” the man joked.

After her magical performance, the two take a breather to surprise all the food.

Amy ends the ad with a humorous sting after the man asks what else she can do.

“Absolutely nothing,” she said deadly. “Like nothing.”

The track concludes with a slogan on the screen: ‘Make taste. Do not waste. ‘

“It was scary to learn how much food is thrown out in our homes, especially when you think about how many people struggle to put food on their tables,” Amy said.

‘I’m proud to partner with Hellmann’s to raise awareness of this issue and to help people with tangible ways to adapt easily at home. Simple steps such as embracing imperfect foods and tidying up your fridge or pantry can help reduce waste and stimulate creativity in the kitchen. ‘

The single-location ad was directed by Peter Farrelly, best known for directing comedies such as Dumb And Dumber and There’s Something About Mary with his brother Bobby Farrelly and for supporting the Oscar-winning film Green Book on his own.
