Ford F-150 Raptor R with V8 power coming in 2022

February 3, 2021 is the day Ford introduced its next-generation F-150 Raptor. Oddly enough, the official unveiling did not include details on the performance, although the F-150 Raptor was a performance truck. Even more interesting was the spate of social activities that took place after the debut, but the removal of these conversations was clear. The Raptor starts with an EcoBoost V6, but a V8 version is coming next year.

This news was confirmed via Twitter through several Ford sources Motor Authority it also has confirmation. Motor1.com Ford also reached for further words, but for all intents and purposes it is a done deal.

As you can see from the tweets, the Raptor of the harder core will be called the Raptor R. At this early stage, there is no other information, but rumors are flying far and wide about the truck using a 5.0-liter charger version. V8 from the Mustang Shelby GT500. The Predator V8 develops 760 horsepower for the muscular pony car, and if Ford wants to fight the Ram TRX, the Raptor will need such a power intake. A further possibility could be an improved version of Ford’s 7.3 liter pushrod V8. With its compact size and great power potential, it could be a surprising move from the Blue Oval.

For now, we know that the 2021 F-150 Raptor is taking an evolutionary step above the outgoing model. The V6 with dual turbocharger holds under the hood, presumably at least 450 hp, but with the TRX and its Hellcat V8 running high, the Blue Oval not only looks logical but also necessary. Perhaps of greater news is the suspension of the Raptor with five links that offer plenty of travel.

As for the V8-powered Raptor R, Ford says it will arrive in 2022, though we do not know if it’s a debut date or a sale date. We will update this article with more Raptor R information as it becomes available.
