Features

Red Pokémon Spawns

Opportunity-exclusive field research tasks

There will be exclusive field research tasks for meetings with Meowth, Alolan Meowth, Galarian Meowth, Meditite and Miltank.

Mega Gyarados is a huge favorite for fans, so we are so excited to see it released as the surprising Mega that was teased last month!

Time research

In celebration of the year of the ox, Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokémon, will appear in Timed Research! Tauros is a local exclusive Pokémon, so this is a great chance to get your hands on one, with a shiny potential!

Bonuses

Gifts

Gifts will contain more Pokéballe, so send lots of gifts to your friends. This is a great opportunity to make sure you are ready for the Kanto tournament! Many of us are in some form of lockdown, so try sending out gifts to friends that you can not safely leave the house.

Happy Friends

You are more likely to become Lucky Friends with your friends, so make sure you exchange gifts, fight and trade with raiders! Remember, at the moment we can open 35 gifts a day, so these are many opportunities for happy friends, even if you do not want to use a raid pass or are too far to shop.

Random Lucky Pokémon multiply

If you trade a Pokémon (against a friend you are not happy with), you are more likely to become a Lucky Pokémon. This is a great opportunity to work on the lucky dex additions!

Trading range increases

Trading range will be temporarily increased to 40 km from Monday 8 February 2021 at 13:00 to Monday 15 February 2021 at 13:00 PST (GMT −8).

Closure

It looks like such an amazing opportunity, with lots of great bonuses on top of fun spawns, raids, and the opportunity to get a wildly shiny Gyarados never goes wrong! The Lunar New Year Event is a regular event in Pokémon GO, and it looks like the best one yet!

Make sure you share this information with your local community and take full advantage of the increased trading distance! Arrange a special deal for each day if you can, send messages, organize and stay safe.
