Office Lens becomes Microsoft Lens and adds new features on iOS and Android »OnMSFT.com

Microsoft this morning announced an update to its Office Lens app, with the document scanning application to be renamed as Microsoft Lens. The brand changes especially include a new Fluent Design icon and many new dynamic features for Android and iOS devices.

The first change the company is emphasizing today is the addition of new intelligent productivity features to the camera. The list includes image to table, image to text, immersive Reader, image to contact, and QR code scanning. In addition, the company noted that it also improves the scan for mobile users.

‘We offer an enhanced scanning experience that allows you to reorder pages, rework scanned PDFs, apply a filter to all images in the document, scan up to 100 pages as images or PDFs, easily switch between local and cloud locations while PDF storage, along with an easy way to identify local files and cloud files, ‘the company explained.

Microsoft says these changes should make it easier for users to seamlessly work on their documents, photos and videos in various Microsoft 365 mobile applications, such as Office, Teams, Outlook and the OneDrive storage service.

Keep in mind that these new features and enhancements are only now available for Android users, and the iOS app will be followed in the coming months. If you missed it, the company removed Office Lens from the Microsoft Store last month, but it’s still available and fully functional on iOS and Android. You can download the latest version of the app today from Google Play or the App Store using the links below.
