Arrive tomorrow in free update.
God of War (the 2018 one, that is) gets a welcome visual boost on PS5 tomorrow, February 2nd, thanks to Sony Santa Monica’s new Enhanced Performance Experience update.
As outlined in a new developer blog, tomorrow’s God of War update will introduce a brand new standard graphics option designed to ‘take full advantage of the PlayStation 5’s increased performance.
Until now, PlayStation 5 owners playing God of War could use the two graphical modes introduced in the PlayStation Pro version of the game – the one favoring performance, which unlocks the frame rate but limits the resolution to 1080p , and the others offer 4K resolution with a disk drive up to 30 fps.

PS5 has already enjoyed a slight rate increase compared to PS4 Pro in the favorite performance mode, but Sony Santa Monica’s incoming God of War update will set a new default setting – the above Enhanced Performance Experience mode – which is the best of both worlds offer, syncing 60fps with a 2160p 4K resolution on the board.

Those who are suspicious of change also have the option to choose Original Performance Experience, which is equivalent to the PlayStation 4’s favorite resolution mode, which delivers 4K Checkerboard resolution at 30 fps.
God of War’s free PS5 update is available to anyone who owns a physical or digital version of the PS4 version, and to players who have purchased the game via Sony’s PlayStation Plus collection.
