Order Girl Scout cookies on GrubHub from Monday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. While the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging, Girl Scouts hope to give you a smile and a treat with their annual cookie season.

But like so many businesses, the Girl Scouts are adapting their business model to meet the needs of people in the community during the pandemic.

They came up with different ways to distribute cookies safely with no contact.

One way is to turn to GrubHub.

Starting Monday, you can order Thin Mints, Samoas, Tag-A-Longs and more through the Food Delivery app.

‘Girls have the e-commerce business’s backside of this e-commerce business, and they’ll be watching their sales locally. They will prepare the sales and execute the orders, and then GrubHub will pop them up and deliver them to your home, ”explains Mary Anne Jacobs, CEO of Gateway Council.

This year you will also find drive-through cookies, virtual cookies and of course booths outside your local store with new security protocols.

Another contactless option is to leave hangers on your front door with a QR code.

“You can actually scan the code, go to our website, pick your zip code, pick your favorite troupe, and have the troops deliver or ship the cookies,” Jacobs said.

Girl Scouts of Gateway Council Press Release:

New this season, Girl Scouts of Gateway Council is participating in a national collaboration with the food ordering and delivery platform, Grubhub, so that girls have an additional way to facilitate contact-free cookie orders. Across the board area, cookie fans can order Girl Scout cookies for pickup or delivery Grubhub.com or the Grubhub app. Local Girl Scouts, who have hands-on experience in e-commerce management, will track and execute orders, inventory management, and more, all using Grubhub’s back-end technology. This method will be available from February 1 to March 7 in many areas of North Florida. As always, the proceeds benefit the troop and the board, while providing another innovative way to make the cookie program work safely. GSUSA is grateful to Grubhub for waiving all fees from the organization to make this new delivery option feasible for sales without reducing the returns of the troops and the board. ”

You can also visit Girlscout.org and go to the cookie finder, enter your area code, and it will show your local cookies in your area and the date on which they will take place.
