Dodger Stadium vaccination site closed in protest

Dodger Stadium’s masses of COVID-19 vaccination premises were shut down Saturday afternoon when dozens of protesters gathered at the entrance, trapping hundreds of motorists who had been waiting in line for hours.

The Los Angeles Fire Department closed the entrance to the stadium around 2 p.m. as a precaution, officials said.

The protesters included members of anti-vaccine and far-right groups. While some carried signs with the COVID-19 vaccine and shouted at people not to get the shots, there were no incidents of violence.

“It’s completely wrong,” said German Jaquez, who was driving from his home in La Verne and waiting an hour for his vaccination when the stadium’s gates were locked. He said some of the protesters told people in line that the coronavirus was not real and that the vaccination was dangerous.

“That’s the wrong message,” Jaquez said. ‘I’ve been waiting for weeks to get an appointment. I’m a dentist; I take a big risk to be patients. I want to be safe for my patients and for my family. The vaccine is the only way to defeat the virus. ”

An official said the fire department plans to reopen the vaccination site around 3 p.m. The site, one of the largest in the country, is usually open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In a post on social media, the demonstration is described as the “SCAMDEMIC PROTEST / MARCH.” This advised the participants to ‘please not wear Trump / MAGA attire, as we want our statement to resonate with the sheep. No flags, but only information signs.

“It’s an exchange information and march against everything COVID, vaccination, PCR tests, Lockdowns, masks, Fauci, Gates, Newsom, China, digital detection, etc.”
