Joel Embiid exclaims LeBron James for his dangerous offense: “If it was me, I would probably be expelled”

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, an MBA candidate for the MVP so far this season, was unhappy with the way LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, treated him during a game between the teams on Wednesday night not.

In the middle of the third quarter, Embiid drove to the ring and tried to hit a victim as he passed Lakers center Marc Gasol. James acts up and pushes Embiid with two hands, dropping him hard on the ground and grimacing in pain.

James was marked with a blatant one-off call, and Embiid was able to stay in the game, but then Embiid expressed his displeasure.

“First of all, I mean, you look at it, it’s a very dangerous play,” Embiid said via ESPN. “I guarantee you that if I were, I would probably be put out of the game, which has happened to me in the past, I would have done for nothing.”

One minute later, Embiid was also marked with a blatant offense when he disrupted Lakers power forward Anthony Davis. Embiid does not seem to agree with the call, especially not after how hard he erred through James.

“If you compare it to the one I got and which I thought I did not really hit him, I did not bring him to the elbow,” he said. “I may have touched him, but I do not think it deserves the blatantness of comparing the two.”

Embiid finished with 28 points, six rebounds, four assists and two blocks for the Sixers in a 107-106 victory over the defending NBA champion. His performance further strengthened his chances of fighting for the NBA MVP, proving that Philadelphia is a legitimate contender for the Eastern Conference.
