Disney +’s WandaVision series has been (mostly) a coat hanger television event for the Scarlet Witch and hair synthesoid man. They’ve experienced all the forced happiness that sitcoms from the ’50s,’ 60s and ’70s were built on, but a clip from the upcoming episode of Friday looks like it’s going to investigate what’s behind the TV veneer …or rather, what is around It.

If you at the end of last week’s episode, Teyonah Parris’ Geraldine was literally thrown out of the city of Westview – and the mysterious bubble around there – apparently because he raised Wanda’s brother and his death under Ultron’s hands Age of ultron. This clip, which looks set before after that event, apparently confirms many things we were already confident about, but still succeeds in a surprise or two.

“Geraldine” – better known in the reality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Monica Rambeau, adult daughter of Captain Marvel‘s Maria Rambeau and in the comics himself a superhero—And agent from SHIELD Jimmy Choo (Randall Park) clearly encounters the Westview bubble here for the first time, before Monica is willingly or unwillingly sucked into the distorted television reality from within. And if the chain’s tip last week was not enough, it’s worth pointing out that Monica is indeed with a SWORD logo t-shirt, which presumably means she’s part of the Sentient World Observation and Response Department.

SWORD, the extraterrestrial sister agency to SHIELD in the comics, first his big tease in the MCU at the end of Spider-Man: Far from home, with the movie apparently announcing his arrival in the form of the new organization run by Nick Fury and a legion of friendly Skrulls via spaceship in his post-credit scene. (I actually suspect Jimmy also switched to SWORD, if only for the sake of simplicity.) Nothing shocking there, at least so far.

However, there are some cool things in the clip. First, there is the triumphant return of Dr. Darcy Lewis, who moved from Jane Foster’s intern in Thor to help SWORD with the WestView situation. And if you look at the wall with the SWORD files on the residents of the city, they all have driver’s license cards … with the exception of Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) and Dottie (Emma Caufield), the latter of which does not contain a dossier at all. Hmm. These licenses are also all from New Jersey; in the first Vision and the scarlet witch cartoons from 1982 the couple moved to the suburbs of Leonia, New Jersey, after marrying and retiring from the Avengers.

Phew! It is very low. Not bad for a 53-second clip-slash trailer! We’ll probably see it and more tomorrow, when WandaVision returns for the episode 4.
