Fortunately, that will change next week. Although The Division 2 will not get a full next-generation port, it will get an update to run at 4K / 60 fps via backward compatibility on next-generation consoles. This was confirmed by Johan Lindholm, community manager of Ubisoft, in a reply to a fan who asked when the new The Division 2 Intel was coming …

As mentioned by Lindholm, The Division 2 will also launch a limited Resident Evil event next week, allowing players to unlock a variety of RE-themed treats. You can see a quick trailer for the event below.

Looks decent, though I better do my hair like Leon Kennedy. Here’s a little more detail about the Resident Evil event:

Section 2 helps celebrate the 25th anniversary of the survival-horror classic, Resident Evil. You can unlock special Resident Evil caches that contain themed cosmetic items, including outfits, weapon skins, individual vanities; and also earn extra game rewards, such as trophies for backpacks. To celebrate the start of the event, all agents reporting throughout the Resident Evil event will receive the three-piece Leon Kennedy RPD outfit to launch their collection. This is a limited time, so make sure you step in again and get your equipment by February 15th.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4 and can be played via backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X / S and PS5. The Resident Evil content and next-generation upgrade arrive next Tuesday (February 2).
