PS5 stock on GameStop is now sold out, but the choice was initially a bit slim: the store only sold it in one of two expensive bundles – one for the standard console with a few games, Sackboy and Spider-Man Ultimate Edition, and more one for the Digital Edition with an extra DualSense controller, HD camera and PlayStation swag.
It was once again a surprising drop, and just like the previous one, it was actually a ‘pre-order’ for consoles that can only ship or pick up in store early on January 31st. This happened in a previous stock GameStop PS5 in January, which added another layer of frustration in an already difficult purchasing season for the console.
Now that the stock is over again, there are other online retailers who can get the console in stock next.
Here’s where you can look for PS5 reloads:
PS5 repossession: why is it better now than ever before?
If you are reading this, you may have struggled to buy a PS5 since November, and you are not alone: many consumers have tried in vain to jump online queues to queues, as the consoles sell out before they get a chance to buy. It’s not you, it’s little supply and a huge demand for a new generation of consoles after seven years PS4 and Xbox One.
Even if you end up not getting a unit with this stock, we can guarantee that more will come – probably within a week. Retailers have quietly continued to raise more stock on a regular basis, but as with all the stock we have seen, they tend to take little notice. This GameStop tweet is therefore a nice change of pace, which gives us all time to prepare.
And best of all, waiting that long means the new PS5 games will wait shorter in the course of 2021.
